You might be surprised to hear how important love is to me as a CEO.

I’m the co-founder of Leapgen. The name we chose for our company isn’t a casual mashup of words. ‘Leap’ in Leapgen stands for Love, Energy, Audacity and Proof. You don’t hear these words often in corporate values and mission statements – really at all in business. We should; it’s truly important in the world we live in today. We’re doing business, running organizations, providing services in a time when our talent has an opportunity to choose where they work, in a world where any of us can choose to start a company overnight, at a time when we tune into news channels and routinely witness the opposite of love.

A great friend of mine, Steve Farber, wrote The Radical Leap. This book and the notion of the radical leap has had a massive impact on my life.

“THE LEAP IN ‘RADICAL LEAP’ STANDS FOR LOVE, ENERGY, AUDACITY AND PROOF.”

Loving what you do is the foundation for finding personal and professional success and satisfaction, especially considering a drastic digital transformation shift along with the mindset and change that requires. If we don’t love what we’re doing, if we don’t love the impact of what we’re able to do, if we don’t love change, if we don’t love learning, and most importantly, if we don’t love the challenge of making an impact of the world, it becomes next to impossible to get the the rest of the ‘LEAP.’ It’s harder to generate energy. It’s harder to do the audacious, and most importantly, it’s harder to prove value.

This Valentine’s Day, think about LEAP. Now think about Love. In its traditional sense, including all of the people around you. Then think of it this way – do you love the opportunity in front of you? Do you love the opportunity we all have to take a LEAP forward in shaping the future of work? We hope so.
