We do such a great job telling our WHY story, sometimes we forget to tell you HOW we do what we do.
We’re on a mission to change work for good. Digital transformation of the Human Resources function and of Workforce Experience isn’t about automation, HR technology, or better leveraging people data to understand the needs of your workforce. Achieving true transformation means WORK WON’T LOOK THE SAME when you’re done. And accepting that you’re never done.
WHY? Because people matter. Work is special. Experiences count. Business can exist for good, and the employment relationship is sacred. We have lots of whys. Those are just a few. In short, THIS STUFF MATTERS to people and business.
But HOW? A story might help here.
We’re onboarding a new client to the Leapgen family – literally just inked the contract. They’ve invested in a new service delivery technology to better serve their large, global workforce with an improved, modern and consumerized experience. They bought technology; check. They have an implementation partner; check. They have a vision (bonus!), and they’ve even started some employee experience interviews to provide input on what frictionless experiences would look like for everyone, whatever they do, wherever they do it. It’s a really great start, but it’s nowhere near the beginning, where they NEED to start. And they know this. Enter Leapgen.
This is our typical customer engagement with global enterprises who are looking to modernize the HR function and transform workforce experience. There’s technology, and there’s a technology strategy. In this case, there’s also a solid vision for the end result they hope to achieve. These are necessary ingredients for a technology transition, but they were missing critical ingredients for true digital transformation.
Automating transactions isn’t enough. Digitizing experiences isn’t enough. “The experience should not be better; it should be exponentially better.” That’s what our new client stakeholder said to us upon closing the contract. They know technology is fuel; it’s not the vehicle. The experience of work itself needs to be reimagined, thoughtfully designed, infused with inclusion, and supported by change work. Their HR technology stack and newly procured experience layer needs to be reimagined to better support employee engagement in the NOW of Work; to create efficiency and ultimately productivity for their workforce, how it looks and feels NOW; and it needs to make people feel like their employer CARES for them by KNOWING them.
This is a multi-year journey with aspirations to change work for good for this particular employer and its workforce; their vision is bold and anchored in a vastly improved experience for the future, and they know MINDSET is everything. They have accepted and are fully committed to the change that is needed to create and sustain meaningful transformation. We are engaged with them to ensure their technology strategy is heavily bolted to the North Star that is their digital vision.
As a reminder, a digital vision has four pillars:

Your Story (Vision Statement): This is a declaration of what Digital HR should be at your particular company, how it will deliver value, and to whom.
Guiding Principles: This is the framework of rules and values that add context to your story and guide decision making.
The Experience (Attributes): These attributes help you define and understand how things will LOOK and FEEL to all of the personas who make up your diverse, distributed, and extended workforce.
Measures of Success: How will you define success and drive accountability in alignment with the vision and guiding principles you’ve laid out?
Your measures of success is where you begin to prove the value the HR function can provide to the business. This is where you fulfill the promise of HR to the workforce. This is why we never call a technology implementation a go-live; the go-live and your measures of success are truly your go-begin milestones.
As we kicked off the relationship with a celebratory signature, our executive sponsor conveyed hope, optimism, and excitement. “This is exciting…..WE ARE ABOUT TO DO SOMETHING SPECIAL.”
This is our WHY and HOW we do it. Changing work for good is a BUSINESS IMPERATIVE, not an HR program. This is what Leapgen does with our valued customers. Our typical services include the following, and I’ll get granular so you know exactly how we can help you WHEREVER YOU ARE on your journey:
- STRATEGY: Solution, architecture, and organization definitions; assessments; recommendations; roadmap and program plan; solution selection support
- DESIGN: Digital experience design, including persona development, journey maps, content assessment and recommendations; digital experience definition, including process maps, report and dashboard design, and defining resource requirements, roles and responsibilities
- ACTION: Program assistance through governance and COE setup, calibration through ongoing workshops and strategy tune-ups, general HR innovation strategy and continuous improvement, data intelligence and decision support, and adoption and utilization management
Good things come to those who transform. How can we help you?
